I just e-mail my files to myself. I'm on a wireless network, so it's really convienient using a yahoo or gmail account. Make sure not to send especially sensitive stuff tho.

Anthony I did look at the link, but I didn't have the right cables.

Darren I've got it figured out. You just place the files into the shared folders and you can access them. Thankfully.

    Kalina,

Sounds like progress is slow. The usb flash drive would probably be the quickest solution. For networking, as long as both pc's have a network jack, you can connect the together with a short network cable and set up basic windows networking using netbui to get them to see each other. Then you just share the hard drive of the old pc and from the laptop, open up network neighborhood, click on the old pc, open up the folder for the hard drive and start dragging files over.

It sounds simple, but it can be a little challenging without any prior experience.

I wish you the best in your endeavor. :)

    Thank you mopacfan,

I've been at it all weekend getting this laptop how I need it and getting my programs installed.

Now I am worn out and very tired, lol.

Thanks to everyone who helped. :D

Wow K/C, you are now going to turn your life around and get to sleep at a normal hour? That will help SE, but what will the DP night owls do without you up until 6:00 am?

Good to see you are turning the corner, good for both of you..

Keep up the good work and get some sleep, headache queen :)
