    Hi guys,

I just sold a website on Flippa that is less than 60 days old. How can I transfer the website?
I have changed the DNS to the new hosting company and I don't know what to do next?

How do you transfer a new domain with files and hosting?

Firstly insure that you have received the payment & then transfer domain name to buyer hosting & after that you can transfer all the website file via any file sharing service to buyer.

Thank you for your reply. But I don't know the steps ...
How can I transfer the files? Should I download them from my server and send it to buyer via email? Or is there another way?
I have received the money and now I can't transfer the domain because it is less than 60 days old. ICANN policy.

You may need to tell your buyer to wait for the domain transfer & simply download all the file of website & upload them in Google Drive then share the file URL with your buyer.

You need to push the domain name to the buyer's account not just change the nameservers. If for example they don't have an account with GoDaddy (where the domain is registered) ask them to make an account so you can transfer the name.

But I bought the domain with another registerer (Hostmonster) and the buyer is on (Namecheap) I have changed the DNS but the domain it says that I have to wait 60 days. I don't know how the buyer can upload his files since he doesn't have the domain and FTP credentials?

He still able to upload file on his server as you have updated/changes "DNS" to your buyer DNS. He doesn't required to have domain name access .

If you said the domain is 60 Days old, the buyer can request to transfer the domain to his namecheap account.
That will be for his own security. let him request for the EPP code of the domain from hostmonster to have it transfered.

Fot the website, all he requires if for the backup of the website, and if he wish to maintain the hosting with hostmonster, he can do so. But if he wants to move to another host of his choice he can do so without any problem.

NB: Most hosts offer free website transfer, and they can do so including the domain name for FREE.
Remember, you have sold the website. let the buyer worry about all the other problems.

I have figured it out. For anyone who is having the same problem as me ...

All you need to do is tell the buyer to assign the domain to his cPanel. And then you can change the DNS records. That way the website will be hosted on his servers and after 60 days you can transfer the domain through EPP.

    That's it.
