I have sold a website (not via digitalpoint) and I want to transfer the domain name to the guy, how do I do it?

    It's a .co.uk domain and I registered it with CrazyDomains.co.uk

Did you even tried to find an answer on your own before you posted this?

I have read on the Crazydomains.co.uk site:

I didn't realize I would have to pay £90 to transfer... can anyone help me here?

Whatever there terms are to do the transfer then is what you have to follow fee or not. Stick with the GD or NC and there no fee to transfer. Lessons for next time if there is one.

No, we aren't them and can't help you reduce their fees.

Thanks topnichewebsites I realized I just had to open new account with then and transfer the domain to the new account. I will give the buyer the login info to the new account and they can change it.

Active Frost - You just lost a sale to your web directory.

Was going to suggest to either pass your existing details to the new owner or ask your buyer to create an account themselves as many registrars allow you to push domains free of charge to another
like account but it appears you are good to go now anyway. :)

If it was purchased from GoDaddy it is really easy to transfer it there, just a few clicks and it is done.

Actually you can change the registrar via Nominet (main .uk domain registry), you should had receive your Nominet's account details when you purchased the domain. You can refer to Nominet's website - Transfer.

Note: Pushing a .co.uk will not change the ownership of the domain, you would still have to transfer the ownership via Nominet's portal which require a small fee.

I guess .co.uk requires an UK address; hence buyer should have an UK address to transfer registration details to own name.
