how to track visitor??

can somebody tell me about some free software through which i can come to know how many unique visitor are coming to my site...and their ip address as well

Personally, I have installed this one on my server many times:

If you can not install the full software, I think they offer free accounts (but limited).

You can also wait a bit ad apply for Google analytics when they re-open the service to everybody (you just need a google account).

I have also seen some usig http://main.addfreestats.com/ wich also tracks clicks on ads and logs exit pages.

There are really many many options, and sure a search on google or the advise of other DP members will give a lot more options where to choose.

this is an intersting script too, easy to use, easy to customize, and quite complex in features.

 

However, nothing will beat server-side generated statistics (think AWstats, Webalizer et al).
