I have a niche advertiser that has worked out well for me. Unfortunately he is only set up to track back links from websites. He said I can do PPC advertising on search engines, but how will he be able to track that. Is there a way to work some word or whatever into the landing page URL that will tell him it was from me? Any ideas??? Serg
Send visitors to your site that does a redirect to his... http://www.yoursite.com/redir.html and that redirects with your aff link in the meta refresh. On the other hand, you should encourage him to update his tracking program to one that uses cookies so you can get credit for sales that you send even if they don't happen on the same visit.
hmmm... I don't want to send them to my site.. isn't there a way to code the link so when people click on the AdWords ad and go to his site, it will ad a small number or name to the URL so he can see where it came from?
Properly done, the user won't even notice that they went to your site. When you advertise in adwords, you can make the display URL the merchant's site. When you forward them on your site, do it instantly so there is no delay... they won't even know. As I said though, getting the merchant to use cookies would likely increase your conversions and commissions noticably.
