How to track Google Adwords visitors coming on my site?

Discussion in 'Google AdWords' started by zan15, Mar 15, 2008.

I have a site for which I have placed an ad in Google Adwords. Is there any way I can track the visitors coming through Google Adwords and in what way can I track whether they get converted or not?

Any help will be most appreciated.

you can use analytics to check that. you can also link your analytics account with your adwords account. about tracking conversions, depends on what you are promoting. if you are promoting affiliate products and your merchant offers sub id option, then its easy

Set up google analytics and link it and the adwords account together, it will then show you the exact ppc visitors and organic visitors. Analytics is a great tool and it is free.

Another way to do this is to create landing page separate from your main page. I do similar to this domain.com/folder/page.html

than you can just make sure that all links point to correct places. There might be better ways, but this works for me in adwords and adcenter.

You could also set-up Conversion Tracking through adwords. Look under Campaign Management and you'll find it. It will help you some. Not as much as analytics but it will give a lot of info on conversions.

Put their tracking code on your "thank you for buying" page.
