    Hi,

I have created a landing page.

Adwords -> Landing Page -> Sales Page

My problem is, how do I track which keyword converts?

    Thanks
    Candy

Install the conversion tracking code on the page you send buyers to after the transaction is done. You'll find the code, unique to you, under the Tools menu. Once installed, you'll be able to see each conversion coming from Adwords clicks down to the ad and keyword.

But when I install, it's not accurate. It'll show 1 conversion when ppl went to the sales page, even if they never buy. You encounter this problem ???

Does this mean we have to contact the owner of the site and ask for our code to be installed on their Thank you page?

I just read and watch the video and the article on the page. It seems like this is only possible if you the advertiser only have access to the confirmation page after the sale.

Have any of you guys ever contacted the owner of the website an ask to place your conversion tracking code at the confirmation page?
    Anyone?...

I've done this before with promoting other people's stuff. Most vendors will add the conversion code to their thank you page if you simply ask.

But this brings up another question.... Let's say the vendor has the Google AdWords conversion tracking turned on. Will having two or more conversion tracking codes installed interfere with each other?

yes you have to put conversion code on your thank you page..where a complete user action is completed.
You can ask your client for the ftp details, so that you can put that.Or ask him to put it himself.
I have done it soo many times.

Yes, to track the sales which actually complete you'll need the tracking code on the 'thank you' page

you could use php, to track the keyword, eg. yourlandingpage.php?keyword=yourkeyword, then in your php code have that setup to put that keyword to your links

I use a two part approach.

1.) Setup a customized landing page. This is designed specifically for the customer. I usually include a contact form in that very page as well as company details. Don't give them a chance to "not act". Give them an immediate call to action.

    Working Example:
    http://www.southeastfab.com/contact.php?adwords=fab

2.) It's the submitting of this form that I want to track with the Google Adwords tracking code (JavaScript). That code is placed within the content for the "successful result" of the contact form. You have to figure out how the contact form is working; if it's PHP, ASP, etc. Contact the person who setup the contact form and ask them to add the Adwords code to the "successful" result page / output.

    Cheers,
    Jeff Walters

I've done the tracking with google analytics and it works for both your adwords account as well as any organic SEO traffic.

Use a solution like BlitzLP from http://www.PPCKahuna.com (give good training too) or you can use http://prosper.tracking202.com/apps/ which is a powerful free script.

Google conversion and analytics are very powerful and you also want to use JS event tracking in your analytics and set up goals but this is not always practical for everyone.

You question is kind of hard to answer really, other then pointing you to other resources because it depends on a crap load of things, such as, do you have access to the conversion page, is it an affiliate product you are promoting, is there sub id tracking available, and the list goes on and on.
