how do I tell the difference between a paypay funds transfer and paypal CC payment with a personal account? I don't want to accept people who pay me using their credit card with paypal, instead I want them to transfer funds that are in their account to me using their paypal. If someone pays something using their credit card with paypal will it say Credit card at my end? ANd if they transfer funds via from their paypal account to my paypal account(which is free and no transaction fees),on my end will it tell me that they've transfer funds instead of credit card? And can I reject a credit card payment? If i do i won't be charged for rejected it will i?
The Personal Paypal account only allows you up to 5 credit card transactions a year and when someone pays you through their credit card, the payment will be left pending and you will get an email from Paypal to upsell you the Premier/Business account or to accept the higher fees for processing credit card payments. At which time, you can cancel the payment and refund the customer. Yes, you can reject a credit card payment if you are using a Personal account. There is no fees to you if you do so. To you the effect is as if that transaction never took place. The Credit Card Holder will also get his money back. Paypal will use the payer's existing Paypal fund first and if there is no fund there, it will allow the Payer to pay through his credit card. So in effect, you cannot get the person to pay you through their paypal funds because they would not have any in the first place. If you have existing funds, Paypal does not provide me the option to use my credit card. Unlike Moneybookers, Paypal does not allow you to top up the Paypal account balance as it would only work on demand.
