How to tell Goggle that /index.html is my default page

    Hi,
I need a consultation. Is there a difference in listing the backlinks of the domain, and domain + index page. For example my site DrugInfo is listed in DMOZ and Google directory with the index page (/index.html). In Google Webmaster Central, Google differentiates the backlinks of the domain and the backlinks of domain+index page.
How to tell Goggle that /index.html is my default page.
    Thanks in advance.

That's odd, I always thought that index.html was equivalent to just the domain or dir

i think you must use 301 redirect for that page . because sitename.com and sitename.com/index.html is the same

You can tell all bots that index.html is your index page by adding this line to your .htaccess file

    DirectoryIndex index.html
