    Hello All

Here is my first post and this question made me to write here. This is one of my research attempts and I am trying to find on web too. Here is question I have come up with
My Website is hosted in Great Britain (UK) I am working on this website from India and I want to target one of its services page in USA region only.

I got a good listing, 2nd rank but it is in India whenever I go and change "&gl=us" at Google search URL I found my website on 6 page listing.

A Month ago I was getting a lots of lead and was on top in USA with same keyword but the ranking has down and I am not getting lead any more.
Please help me out if you have faced this problem
    Thanks

I could recommend many options to consider to target traffic in the United States region.

    • The Web Hosting Company: If the location of the web hosting company is not currently in the US, you may want to host it from a US based company
    • Dedicated IP Address: Dedicated IP addresses are not important, but it can make a difference. A dedicated IP address may cost around $2.00 per month, if you are not using one, you may want to take this into consideration.
    • Add back links to relevant websites that are based in the region that you want to target.
    • Trade Links with other US based websites: You may want to take the time to add a few fresh quality back links to your website every few weeks. Quality is more important than quantity! A few quality back links is more important than adding many non-relevant back links. You may also want to trade links with a few link directory websites. You could search for a reciprocal link directory that offers the ability to trade links instantly.

    Keep in mind:
When you add back links to your website and trade links with other websites, do not always link back to just your homepage. Link to other important pages within your website as well.

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, feel free to post them.

USe Googles Webmasters tools for this.
    Go to
    settings --> geographical target

set checkbox 'target users in united states' to true
    thats it.

    Some more details from google:
If your site targets users in a particular location, you can provide us with information that will help determine how your site appears in our country-specific search results, and also improve our search results for geographic queries. You can only use this feature for sites with a neutral top-level domain, such as .com or .org. Country-specific domains, such as .ie or .fr, are already associated with a country or region.

If you want to rank in Google.com because your primary audience is in the US or you have a global business that operates in multiple countries then I suggest:

    1) you have a non-country specific TLD domain (like .com, .net, etc),
    2) host your site in the US, and
    3) get links from other sites that rank well in Google.com (i.e. other .com, .net, etc. domains)

If you want to rank well in, for instance, Google.co.uk then I would suggest:

    1) you have a .co.uk TLD (country specific TLD),
    2) you host your site in the UK, and
    3) get links from other .co.uk sites.

Google webmaster tool is not reliable as it is failed to make it limited to particular country.

This was not my first post at DP but I have started this thread at webmasterworld(My First post there ) too and have just copy paste here to find more choice of answer.

After two days research I land up on below point to implement

    Should have ccTLD Domain
or Should have subdomian for each country or state
    Hosting in targeted location
Optimize each page with each location
Listing in map is creating wonder
and last but not list get link strictly from targeted country website...

    Thanks for answer
