Hi, What I do for targeting specific keyword is keyword in domain name.. and using the keywords in anchor text, Title tag while doing the Link Building.. And Rich content with those keywords phrases.. Any thing else you want to share please tell me.. And for those websites which are already developed and not following above how to target for those..

Use keywords that are similar in meaning... I mean if you target the word benz, make sure that there are related words like automobile, cars etc in the article. LSI perhaps....
