I wanna submit my site in Yahoo directory, do you guys have any experience in this? Yahoo ask money for it, So I don't want lose money on that, Pls tell me how to ensure my website get listed in its directory just one-time-pay? Thanks in advance!
It's $299 a year review fee, every year. There is no one-time pay. It is a review fee and if they don't accept it, they still charge you. Make sure you have a quality site before submitting.
Thanks for your reply, is there any standard for quality site in yahoo's eyes? Their official policy is too boring to read.
But it is not necessary to promote your site via yahoo directory. you can use high quality free directories to submit your site. Good luck.
Some seoer told me that "launching your promotion on free directories will makes google lower your value", but google prefer yahoo directory
Here's the full list of requirements in submitting at Yahoo directory: https://ecom.yahoo.com/dir/reference/instructions Remember the more carefully you prepare, research keywords, debug pages, write valuable content and compile your description, the more chances there are to be included, this is regardless of whether it is through Yahoo! Directory Submit or the Free Submission service.
you can just submit in yahoo.com/siteexplorer if you don't want to pay. This will be effect to yahoo SERP
submiting website to yahoo directory is totaly free check my website there http://dir.yahoo.com/Regional/Count...ching_the_Web/Search_Engines_and_Directories/ :-s
Yahoo does not list commercial sites for free. Read the Yahoo site: US$299.00 non-refundable, recurring annual fee Required to submit commercial listings but available for any site. http://add.yahoo.com/fast/add?1 If your site isn't commercial (no ads or selling anything) then you can submit it but very few sites are accepted. If your site is old, it may have a grandfathered listing since it used to be free many years ago. There are also some instances where people have paid the $299 to get in, and then not renewed, but the listing wasn't removed.
i placed google adds their and also i got local adds for my web yahoo submit my web in 2 days i htink
Yahoo doesn't even approve paid sites in two days. Perhaps they are doing something different for foreign country regional listings because they don't carry any link juice being so deep. You can read what it says, no commercial listings can be submitted without paying $299. You have to pay before it is even submitted. You don't get a yahoo listing for direct traffic (you get little to none) but if you are in a top level category, it will help with SERPS.
my web related to Pakistan media (news etc) and it is in Pakistan category (at 3rd position) yahoo approved my web in 2 days believe me :-s and i have not paid a single cent for this
I'm talking about the category depth - it's so far in it isn't going to provide any boost - and perhaps it was already listed or they made a mistake. If you really got in for free, then its ok, but that category isn't one that you should pay for. Directory > Regional > Countries > Pakistan > Computers and Internet > Internet > World Wide Web > Searching the Web > Search Engines and Directories
His right why are you wasting your time on submitting your link to yahoo? Try using Google, twitter and some social networking site, Google give you more traffic.
For paying 200$ to be included in a directory right now is way too much but i think it can be worth it if you can afford it
Hehe, that's business! and I can afford it, but the only thing hold me back is their no-worranty policy.
