    Its better you dont submit to search engines.. Just buy a link from a good PR site, your site will be listed automatically by yahoo,google ,msn.. all other SE are waste..

    Seriously, there are only 3 real search engines you need to worry about. I'd recommend you use Google Sitemaps as opposed to manual submission.

    Do some manual submissions. you can submit your sites to various directories & ezines. Use http://www.directorycritic.com/ site for full list of sites. Use different anchor text & do some deep linking. dont bring too many links initially as your site is new. Google might put it on sandbox.

    Always focus users rather than Search engines.

    It takes years to be indexed by SE if you just submit your site.. You'd better get backlink from popular sites.
