Is it a lengthy or complicated task to submit articles to directories. I am freelance copywriter and I work independently, so I can't pay anybody for this and I wish to do it myself. Pls tell procedure also, if possible....:confused::confused:

The procedure will depend on the article directories you choose. Some will accept almost any article, while others (like E-zine Articles) have editors who review submissions and reject those articles that are of poor quality. The task itself should not be difficult. You need to do the following:

Find article directories that you want to join.

Sign up for each directory. Some directories may require very little information while others have you use a long application form.

Once you are a member of these directories, become familiar with the writing guidelines for each of them. Find out if links are allowed in the text, if you are allowed to have a resource box at the end of each article, what the minimum word count for each article is, and if there are any prohibited topics. Some article directories do not allow affiliate links or advertising in any manner.

Once you are familiar with the rules and guidelines, begin writing your articles. Pay attention to quality. If you are marketing your business with your articles, you do not want people to get a bad impression based on your writing. Proofread each article so that you catch any spelling, grammar, punctuation, or content mistakes.

When you're ready to submit, follow each directory's submission guidelines. You should be able to copy and paste your articles into most submission forms, but a few of the ones I have used insert strange code into the form when MS Word is used. You might be better off writing your articles in Notepad or Wordpad.

Once your articles have been submitted, keep track of how many views they have gotten as well as how many visits to your Web site have come from these articles. Your Web site statistics panel should allow you to see how people found your site.

I am focusing on Ezine Articles, Go Articles and maybe Base Articles as well. Since I cannot hire people to do the job for me, I would have to submit one by one manually. Most of the time the articles will be reviewed within 7 days and if the articles are of good quality, the articles will be published. Otherwise, you will have to make changes and resubmit again.

Most article directories will accept complete crap. To get turned down your writing has to belong in a museum in the "worst creations of all time" department. So don't worry about that. And if your name isn't on it, quality is just wasted.

The only exception to that is being turned down for not following the rules (promo piece, 38983 links, etc).

EZA is the best on to start with. You can rewrite the article for places like Go Articles as well. Depending on what you're doing and what you expect it may or may not be a good idea to spend your time submitting to anyone but EZA.
