    Hi Guys,

I have a different problem with Google.. I hope someone has the solution here. :)
I have an herbal store which is doing well with Google and other SE's.. but the problem is I get unwated traffics from Google as the domain is a .IN domain the traffic which I get is largely from Google.co.in and which is of no use for me.. as my main target is the traffic from Google.com or other countries..

It is a little worrying for me since I do not want the site to get stamped or identified as just an Indian website by Google.. because this means all the traffic that I may get will be from its Indian Engine and not from Google.com or any other Google extensions..

    Any suggestions ?

I think u rank more in .in than .com.check that first.
Then do more link building with US sites and keep your .com ranking high.

Get a .com domain. Host your website on a US server. This should help you greatly.

From my point view only .In domain is not responsible for traffic from India. Might be you have hosting form Indian Server or you have many links form indian sites. If you wanna rank higher outside India then you need to change ur server if you hosted ur site on any Indian Server.

And second thing try to get backlinks from sites outside from India. Try to get maximum backlinks form sites around the world. Or check whether you had set your site for Indian Results.

These things might help you because as i now only .In domain is not only responsible for visitors from India.

Are you sure? I didn't find any US affiliate links. They have banner for their own sites. That's other thing they are offering affiliate schemes for others........

Best thing will be to register your site in your Google Webmaster account (create it if you don't have one). Go to "Tools/Set Geographic Target" and set it to US

If I were you I would be happy with traffic from anywhere. Even if you're after US traffic, if the Indians who visit your site like it, they might tell their US friends. :]

Use the "Set Geographic location" option in google webmaster tools to select the country that you want to target.

The first suggestion is to purchase an international .com domain instead of an indian domain.

You can ban indian traffic but will be nosense to have an indian domain and block indian traffic.

    My 2 cents

:D:D Thats pretty good response. Don't try to kill traffic from any locale, Just try keeping you on top on .com. try getting more backlinks from the locale that you are targetting.

Thank you Guys for all your suggestions.. but the winner of all suggestions is "newcity" :D

Well on a serious note yes.. I will work on few suggestions here.. but again for people who think this is an affiliate site.. sorry folks this is well doing Ecommerce site.. I don't want to spam but just to let you know this is on #2 for a keyword that most would dream about - "HERBAL" on MSN or Live.. but that does not solve my purpose since I also don't count MSN or Live.com as a search engine for business :)

And my worry is legal because I have another herbal website which is a .com domain and that does get good traffic and largely from Google.com and not Google.co.in which gives me business and my bread :p

Well since the same domain name with .com is not available I can't even think of changing the domain name either because that will mean an entire new website and to establish it again

I will work on the Geo suggestions.. hope that helps..

Any other suggestions please throw them here..
