Hi, Does anyone has a list of sites which we might stop or block in ad-sense control panel - these ads are deterring to the visitors and they know better on what to expect out of such sites loaded with ads/links and trash. I have been copying the links on a note pad and then checking regularly but that's a pain also - these ads say something on the Title text and in effect delivers something else. Any information or help will be appreciated. Thanks. Jack
there is too many this kind of ads so on every site different crappy ads will show so you won't have much use from somebody else's filter list, you have to do it manually for best results.
I agree with pozer. make sure you block the whole domain by not putting in www : that way subdomains also get filtered.
I use http://www.adsblacklist.com and it's worked very well for keeping the MFA sites and other crap ads from showing. Google's recent crack-down has also done wonders.
Thanks, Currently I am manually checking all links which is painful... Oregon CL.. pls tell me if you found any difference after using the 'adsblacklist' service. Cheers.
like pozer just told you, adsense blacklist can't possibly know what ads you are getting on your particular website. make up your own ads black list, inside the adsense competitive ad filter.
oregon coast, you should consider deleting ads that aren't relevant to your content... people are going to your site looking for oregon vacations, not generic travel info. for instance, citysearch.com is listing my hometown, not the oregon coast... wlchalet.com is in west virgina, not oregon... springbrookinn.com is in michigan, not oregon... etc. i just went through this with my sites, it helped bring up the epc.
Those must be regional ads you're seeing. I don't see those here. All the ads I'm seeing have to do with Oregon and the coast. I'll add those couple of URLs to my ad filter just to be safe. Thanks. As far as Adsblacklist, you feed your keywords in and use the Adsense tool for IE to fine-tune the ads showing up. Since Google did a major clean-up on the MFA sites, it's been much better.
i'm in so cal, so i shouldn't be seeing ads for cabins in michigan and west virgina... or realtor ads from texas, on your homes for sale page. even if google can't figure out where my i.p. is originating, there is no reason to serve up ads with the wrong geotargeting... if the bad ad gets clicked on, it probably won't convert, which will hurt your epc. so there is more to look out for than just the mfa's... i have finally even put ebay in the filter... those big companies use heavy statistical analysis to figure out which keywords are the most likely to get clicked on, for the smallest cost per click. low cpc = low epc for the publisher.
