How to stop submissions without payment?

I changed my directory to paid, with $1.99 for regular links. However everyday I still got about 30 submissions without payment. What can I do to stop things like this?

BTW, looks like all these submissions from the same country or region, because the IP all started with 74.52.xxx.xxx. Can anybody know which country are these IPs from?

You could block the IP Address but if you find out how to stop them permanently that do not pay .............. you will be a DP Favorite Guy

Then please tell us ...................... and every other Directory Owner will want to know too :)

Yes I also have the same problem I got more than 200 submissions like that in my directory till now

I think the basic thing is very complex as the user submits a website details and then only clicks on the payment button it should like some other thinkg

that user should pay first and then click on the submit button

you need to do something with your submission site security. I afraid your site had been hack and that why they can submitted without paying.

im sorry, i'll try to find the ip, but im not find it because of xxx.xxx.

The IP is 74.52.87.194, maybe the submission is by automatic submission software, and there are some other IPs start with 74.52, but the last two part are different.

My thoughts on this: Submission company's will guarantee 250 submission for xx amount of $ whether it is accepted/rejected it doesn't matter, this tells the "client" that they did "try" and a client will notice by the email your software might have sent (automatically) whether it was approve or not, either way the submission company have done their qoutas for the day. That is why (i believe) they submit even to a Pay directory because they are allready there. At first they might have listed your directory as Free at one point but turned to paid.

You need to remember that the majority of the submssions we get are coming from a submission company and they don't always play by the rules. One reason for me not to ever do business with them unless I know them personnaly.

I have that issue as well on one of my directories - also had some one just submitting annoying blank submissions with no details at all. A quick ban of the specific ip makes the problem go away.

What script do you use? phpLD? there might be a mod avaliable that means people have to click a link in an email before their listing is properly submitted - this would cut down on spam and annoying automated submissions.

That would be a good mod, kinda like when registering in a forum, it needs confirmation before you become a member in a forum, this is a great idea. But I like the Pay first mod better;)

Don't know if phpLD or any of the others have the pay first mod in place, but phpLynx has this option included within their free script.
