Havent suggested we hold all muslims responsible for the acts of the militant radicals, just saying the attrocities committed by a bunch of racist mysogynistic mouth-breathing lunatics who burned witches and "heretics" a few hundred years ago, though by any measure terrible, have no bearing on a need to forgive the actions of someone living today and embarked on a crusade to kill "infidels" because they miss the good old 16th century when it was cool to beat women and whack guys with a cross on their tunic.
Uh... You did suggest that all these killing were done in the name of christianity didnt you??? Look more like colonialism vs Islam to me.
1-Where in the bible did Jesus claim to be god? I don't care. I AM God. 2-Where in the bible did Jesus ask to be worshipped? Again, that is irrelevant you blasphemers, WORSHIP ME! (also worshiped has one p) 3-Where did Jesus say I am God Manifested in flesh? Why are you heretics blaspheming against me!? 4-Where did Jesus mention the original sin? You know what the Original Sin is right? It was that Adam chose an apple over sex. Go have sex - and I absolve you of your sins. 5-Where did Jesus say I am the God the Son? He said it during a mushroom trip at a local clinic in J-town. He recovered. 6-Where did Jesus say that I am God the Word? See the above J-town incident. 7-Where did Jesus say I am the Second God in Trinity? Again with the heretical questions! There is no Second God! I am your God now. Hurr hurr hurr.
Yeah Right! Kids' teachers should decide which religion is best for them. All the religions should have clear guidelines on shaving pubics and hair else where daily. One who doesn't shave and bath on regular basis should be punishable by law.
Sadly for those who (such as yourself???) belong in one or more of the above categories and are unable to see the causes that inflicted them with this disease we call religion.
Religion is not a disease. It's just a terrible invention by humans that kills, like atomic bombs or guns. While some peopel are fanatics of Harry Potter because they liked the book and the dude, they are fanatics of religion because they live in a bible or qu'ran environment. All those books have been written by talented writers obviously, most probably for money at their own time being. Of couse, the worst is to follow all these books' story and put in practice what's in them, like kill the other guy because he's rich or black or jewish or russian or handicap or tall or U2 fan or digitalpoint poster or cop or president or child...etc...etc..you name it... But, yes, religion is the worst human invention so far. It has killed more than anything else so far....
There are 1+ billion R.C. christians alone (almost half of all christians) and look at where the majority of those numbers come from. Poor uneducated countries throughout the world. Look at where the other 1+ billion christians reside and you find most reside in properous nations with educated population. Of those christians the vast majority are non-practicing only. If you look at the 1.57 B muslims thoughout the world you will find that the "faithful" are anything but educated and/or prosperous. As in christianity, those more "fortunate" are non-practicing muslims. "Devout" muslims immigrate to my country all the time. In matter of time many of them (or their children) find the 21st century lifestyle much appealling than the middle ages. Yet they are still defined as muslims
He clearly stated his case in the prior two posts. Essentially he paraphrased a paraphrase of Marx (who oddly wouldnt qualify as a "Marxist" today any more than Christ would qualify as a "Christian" among his most hardcore "followers"). Marx is remembered as saying "Religion is the opiate of the masses". It is a shortening of the following text... Goose is simply applying that to Islam, and if his numbers are reliable it appears to be accurate in application. Still my primary objection to his premise would be that in a substantial number of Islamic countries religion can't the opiate of the masses... opium is... THEN Islam. That codicil aside, he's correct. Happy, prosperous people don't have nostalgia for the good old middle ages. LOL. I'm working on avoiding P&R because it's filled with so many braying dogmatists. Sometimes I slip and have to post. Can't get over the uncomfortable feeling it's like laughing at the kids as they exit the short bus.
I wont limit my opinion to just Islam though. A few posts up I mentioned the R.C. church. It is without a doubt the most influencial christian church with the majority of its members living around or beneath poverty. As for protestant churches, most "members" hardly attend even though they call themselves Christians. The exceptions are the fundamental baptist, pentacostals, 7th adv.... something??? And where does one find these fundamental protestants??? Well, in the US (& Canada) primarily amongst the poor and uneducated.
The word "islamophobes" is wildly used for good reasons. The word "christianophobes" is not even in the dictionnary...
