How to Stop Iran Traffic from my website ?

I own several proxy website
After few test i fund that click from iran are 400% less paying then anything else
Since they are not paying and im making proxy site for money im wasting good server resourse to serv them but nothing in return

since my server can track where the traffic come from, anyway i can Block Iran traffic or better redirect them to a other site or page ?
this way i could open new site specialy for iran traffic with other ppc on

 

i know that its definitely possible because a lot sites block any non-us users (like myself)

Just find out Iran ip address ranges and block them.

Check out this site: http://www.ipaddresslocation.org/ip_ranges/get_ranges.php
Chose the country Islamic republic of Iran and you will get ip ranges.

To block ips, you can use php.

I know you can also use htaccess to deny an ip range.

It should be something along those lines:

deny from 62.32.35.0/19

Many people block China & India + Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan + other Asian and South American countries

 

Simply add a snippet of php code to your website which bans the ip addresses origination from Iran

 

I understand your point, but doing this, you are actually supporting the dictatorships in countries like mentioned above.

There is a reason these users use proxy, its not just for fun, most use it to blog and tell people in the world, what is really going on in there own country, this is not something their government like and if they find out if one is doing anything against the government, they will jail them, tortour them or in the worst case kill them. And Im not exaggerating, this really happens. Anybody remember what happened to those who Google.com help the chinese government to find? Think about it.

Offcourse I understand, Im also a business man, you are not having your site because of the humanitary reason, you have expenses, but I hope that you will rethink this through, its not all about money, remember that.

But if its serious, your right. Although the "proxy site" at that time, was the oppurtunity/option to inform/show/tell what happend in Germany to others.

Since all traffic is valuable all depend how you use it.
i'd like more to redirect iran visitor to a beter page without adsense on and other more paying compagny with this traffic.
Cause google dont like them well i can see some site with large amount of iran traffic are worthless versus my us traffic site.

 

To install mod_geoip you need to have root access to your server. There are some well known proxy hosting providers here who has mod_geoip in their box, like cloakhost, hagiohost etc etc. Mod_geoip is the easiest way to block traffic with reduced server load instead of IP banning.

Not sure if it's good to ban on the country level, but you can have a good luck with http://www.ipdeny.com free CIDR based IP address blocks that you can use in iptables, php or anywhere you wish.

It's about one single guy making money online

He is not a philosopher, a philanthropist, a political activist, the great GW BUSH or NATO

This guy is not a hero or a bad person

He just does not want traffic for Iran because he can't convert this traffic in $$$ and this traffic is damaging his business by using his server resources
