I often want to see where my sites rank in google, but it means I have to sign out of gmail to get the correct results. Is there another way to do this without having to sign out of all google services?

Only foolproof way i have found is to stay logged in to google and
go to your account page and disable web history there.
    see http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=54052

Another way is to click "web history" top right of results pages (when logged out of google) in search and disable there ... needs to be done every time you clear cookies.

Some say that adding &pws=0 to the end of the results page will show the desired results but I have had little luck with that myself.

I am sure others will have other ways.

If you are using IE8, Click on safety in the right hand corner and click on InPrivate Browsing. This should shut off everything and just give you the basic web browser.

    Good luck.
