How to stop chinese scumbags to steal my content?

    This is the case:

I have some sites that really ranks high on Google. For a year now or so I have seen a lot of Chinese thiefs taken my content and publish them at their domains.

After some time when they have done some blog and forum comment spamming, my sites will lose their page rank on Google and the Chinese domains will ranks high instead.

To contact the owner or host seems be useless cause their all in China. The fact that Google seems to think that the Chinese sites is the original ones is really so annoying. Why can't google see that my site has been published for years and the Chinese only for some months?

It seems that the only way to get my sites back in high rank position is to change the content.

Is their any other why to stop the Chinese scumbags to steal my content and fool Google?

This is an example of a domain that has stolen my whole site: "www.luvugg.com"
They even left the links to my sites images.

Hope someone have any ideas on what to do.

if they are automatically scraping your site, use geotargeting to deny IPs associated with China.

Alternatively, write your copy in such a way that even if stolen, it still acts as a promo for YOUR site.

Sending a DMCA notice will take too much time. I have contacting the host now so I hope that they will remove the domain asap. I still think that Google have some real problems when they just dropping the original site and rank the duplicated site instead. Why shall links be the overall factor for ranking??? That is the only reason why my site dropped and the Chinese scumbag site too over my ranks.

You can use .htaccess to restrict access to files, file types and images as well as indexes, directories, folders.

    For example:

Authorized User only directory (all files/folders contained within):
    www.havocarcade.com/admin

    Forbidden directory:
    www.havocarcade.com/uploadfiles

Forbidden file content via site referrer (try to download/url upload (scrape), and you will instead get a different file):
    www.havocarcade.com/swf/doomjs-score.swf

Depending on what you want to block access to, you can set it to site authorization (allows only access if the site itself is the referrer), or block all access using auth user file directive. This can be done with .txt/swf/png/jpg/gif/php/html/css/etc

You can also block ALL content, and then allow certain ip's, http refererrs, or select users to access.

Well, if I restrict access to my main page then my site will disappear at google or am I wrong? I want people to find my site on google but I want to stop Chinese scumbags to steal my content.

The luvugg.com domain is registered through http://www.webnic.cc/. The person registering the domain appears to have entered fake contact info as the email website does not work. You can complain to the Registrar about the contact information (though not about the content of the site, only the contact info). The website itself is hosted by http://www.piradius.net/. Send them a DMCA take down notice. Be polite though; they are the hosting company, not the offender. Lastly, it seems the website is now hosting their own pictures. If, however, another site decides to hotlink your images let me know. You can have a lot of fun with people who try to hotlink :)

Thanks Lassenar, I have contacted the host but they haven't replied yet. I have also contacted webnic.cc but I didn't notice them about the fake contact info. I know that luvugg.com is not hotlinking but they still have the links to my images in the html code. Also the Google Webmaster Tools verification code fro my site is included in html code. Hope that the host will close the site soon. I have already changed the content of my site and it seems that US Google is ranking my site again.

Note that webnic is a registrar. They can't actually help you with the content of the site, only with the fake contact info which could force them to suspend the domain per ICANN rules (this is complicated, but just know that in most cases the registrar is not the one to go after). The illegal content of the site falls strictly on the site's hosting company, Piradius, and the creator of the website.

Looking at the Chinese ripoff site, how did you ever get yours to have any page rank? It appears to just be a landing page..

i had this problem - I just make sure my posts are in a way, that promote my own services. I have never had a case where my ranking was affected from a content robber, where his was ranking higher...

This is scary - I guess it just tells me to work even harder..

See if your blog software has a plugin that will append a backlink to your site at the end of each post. I've actually gotten lots of backlinks thanks to content thieves, so I'd like to thank them :)

They could just get a vpn and bypass that ?
I think you should write some content that would contain backlinks to your site ( somehow) so they would had at list to edit that before they post on their sites, otherwise i see no solution since they are in China (kind of hard to track them and all that).

Use a blog plugin that tracks the most accesses by IP address, and allows you to specifically ban then, or offer them something more 'interesting' than the original content.

A notice will take a while but 6 months down the road when you still have this problem you will be glad you did.

you can search the ip address from china and limit that range. It will stop them to visit your website. It is not full proof they can be able to access using proxies and you wont get Chinese traffic.

Use more images on your website so they wont be able to copy content as text but it will any ways affect your Google ranking. i have seen few techniques on net like not allowing copy and putting image in front of text or putting content in text box.. not sure how much it is helpful
