A domain which I want to buy is now in redemption. I'm not sure if anyone else is going to want it. But there was a web site there about a year ago. I guess that if I use estibot.com, clubdrop.com, or back order services they will store everything to look for domains which they can snag themselves. What can I find out about a domain without alerting potential buyers? Right now I have only 'whois'ed the domain through internic and the registrar (and that sparingly).
You may look in Archive.org and see what content was and maybe you can find a a stats counter to see what traffic received.
Toby, glad to be able to enlighten you. As mentioned by pubsit, you can look at the previous contents with waybackmachine or archive.org. You can look and see if it is on one of the auction sites. You can try to find out about previous traffic. In short, you can try to see if people are going to be interested. But I don't want to alert people to my interest. So imagine me using snapnames to search for the name. It could be known to people on this forum that snapnames keep this search string and then automatically put the site up for auction or renew it themselves. Wouldn't it be better for me to know this in advance? Get the picture toby?
