Getting an LCD if you don't have one is a good start.

after 1-2 hours, take a break for 10 minutes, and then again come back and concentrate on the work. i usually take small breaks after every one hour on the computer, keep green plants in your computer room!
LCD is a good option, that will sure help!:)

Occasionally remove sight from your Monitor and look at something green in shade - can be a wall painted green, a plant, or anything that is pleasant to the eyes. This removes the strain.

As Vadym said, take a good LCD monitor if you dont have one, and I would add, wash your eyes with fresh water as often as possible or say once every two hours at least

-- with your eyes closed, or else, you might suffer blindness forever, those nerves are too strained to be washed.

So, splash your face with water while your eyes are closed. ;)

You need to take a break often. That is the best method. Looking away from the computer and focusing your eyes as if you're looking at the horizon is one of the methods used by a few people I know.

Your eyes need rest and from experience, the breaks are the best method. I remember one time when working many hours on a project, my vision went all tunnel like and I went "blind" for a while. It totally freaked me out and I have made it a point to always take breaks since then.

First and foremost let me say that anything in access is bad. But having said this, you could prevent your eyesight from getting damaged by following some of these guidelines:
    1) Using additional filter computer screen monitor
    2) Always try to use an LCD monitor compared to the conventional type of monitors
    3) Take breaks every 30 minute or after every one hour.
4)Keep a safe distance from your monitor screen, while using the computer.

I just sit at my PC and masturbate a lot - that way I can ease my conscience by saying I'm going blind for a good reason :D

mind you... the keyboard is very sticky these days :(

Put some screen on your monitor and as they say blink a while and rest for at least 5 mins....Turn on lights so that the radiation will not go directly to your eyes 'coz light disperses the radiation... Tyndall effect...:D
