I have an entertainment magazine/website with unique content. For the last 2 months i'v been adding content to my website, so i didn't do any advertising. I get around 70-100 visitors everyday from search engines. Last week i tried couple of cheap traffic sources, adf.ly, fulltraffic and dalily-traffic. The one that gave me best result was daliy-traffic.com, but the problem with them is they were sending me Chinese traffic, the traffic was excellent, the visitors stay on the page from 1min-10min. But i don't need Chinese traffic but USA. I bought GEO targeting option with them hoping to get the same results. But their USA traffic sucks, they redirect visitors from some PTC websites and visitor stay on the page for like 1sec. I tried this cheap sources since i was low with a budget. But i am willing to pay a lot more for advertising to get more quality traffic. But don't know where or how to start. Can you give me any suggestions?
Are you bookmarking your unique content? Do you have a way for people to share this content with their friends? How about creating a facebook fan page? It is hard to give specific information/advice without seeing your website, knowing your target market, etc. One thing is for sure, you are currently dumping your money into traffic that is not targeted (you might as well flush that money down the toilet)
I have facebook fan page on website, also digg,delicious,reddit, google buzz, stumble upon, tweet, and facebook share plugin so users can share content. Site content is like odde.com, planetoddity.com, acidcow.com etc. like those types of sites. Odd and bizarre, top 10, strange stuff. I just tested those services i don't use them anymore, as you said i am just wasting my money. Later i will integrate 2leep into website. But don't know how to start getting visitors first.
