How to start...

    I want to make a blog with football/soccer related news....

    I have never used joomla....

    Can i make a wordpress blog and connect joomla to it,
    Kind of like these http://footballblog.co.uk/ ... http://www.the-football-blog.co.uk/ ... http://11x2.com/
    Im a total noob and i dont know if this even makes sense...

    If you want to blog only, wordpress will do. I don't understand why you want to connect to joomla? :|

    Joomla and Wordpress are 2 different scripts. Your site might look awkward. Re-think what you want to have. If a blog, can use only Wordpress. If a mini website, may use Joomla.

    i think you must donload (appserver & master joomla) if you like make joomla.....
    next you looking for tutorial or book or friend to lern you....good luck
