Great post If I may add to those tips...

1. Blogging takes time, dedication and patience - allocate those traits into blogging and you will be fine, nothing will ever happen overnight
2. To make money blogging, you need traffic so don't start a blog and instantly assume you will start making money. People are getting rich from blogging because they have extremely popular blogs.
3. Content is king sure but content isn't a very well respected king unless it if useful and fresh. Make kickass awesome posts that even blow your own mind and focus on topics no one else is writing about.
4. Embrace blogging, make it a habit, make it an addiction - if you hate writing and cannot find the time to blog, then you are not blogging material!
