    To get started i would suggest any one to movie with the google webmaster tools and bing webmaster tools submission then i would prefer to review the google webmaster quality guidelines and optimization tips.

Check your on page website its coding,Keywords,url,content,internal links,site map etc if all these things are fine then submit your website in webmaster and after that stat basic work of SEO like directory submission, blog commenting, article submission, social bookmarking and many more.
