First ask yourself do you have something of use to people to offer to justify making a website, do you have unique service or products that people will want, simpley great prices people will want? Are you a talented writer who can right great reveiws on products or services? Ect.

Use Google page speed addon for firefox to make sure you have done all the things possiable to make sure your site loads fast.

Consider userbility/ease of use, accessability, impact of the site (Does it grab the visitors attention right away).

Go posting on webmaster forums like this asking for reveiws and reveiw other people sites , this is great just to simpley get feed back on your website and see if its even ready.

Then when your happy with the site do some promotion work make some articles get them around with a link to your website, do some social networking and social bookmarking if your have some good content to share. Get list in directorys. If you can afford it get some advertising on some large sites related to yours who have visitors that would be interested in your what your site offers.

Then do a good reveiw of what you have done what things can be improved and make it better.

 

that is like doing seo for old website. but there is little bit different old website ranked fast than new because Google trust more to old domain rather then new. you can start seo slowly by onside and slow link building.

 

Try the following SEO methods for new site:
Get your site indexed in Google. It's a first requirement
Include site map in the site so that google can crawl your site easily
do on page optimization like title, description etc
then go for off page optimization like different submission services
Keep on making backlinks until you get desired rankings and traffic

 

Setup some social media accounts, create some offsite content linking back to your website, promote your content if I may add those tips. And if you can afford it, submit your site to Yahoo directory. It is $299 a year, but the back link from there is well worth it.
