    The second best thing is to sell some one else's product. This is called affiliate marketing. But, in order to do affiliate marketing, you need to learn Internet Marketing (IM). This is easy when someone gives you step by step instructions.

    Yes, it is possible to earn some money with website(s). But what do you mean by starting an online business, do you have something to sell/offer? A good way to start is often making a website about something you know well and love. Then, you could try to find some nice affiliate offers that would fit well for your visitors.

    If you plan to start an online business then a website is a must, the amount of money you can make depends on the type of business and the amount of time you have to put into it.
    I agree with finding something that really interests you because making money online doesn't normally happen overnight, so you are much more likely to stick with it if it's something you are interested in.

And while there is some truth in choosing a niche that you're truly passionate about, it doesn't mean that it's always correct. You must make sure that your chosen niche actually has a viable demand.
