I'm also thinking to start linkbuilding for my webhosting but i guess may be i have to see from different perspective because i am selling services not quite after traffic or ads... Any idea about that ?

At least you must build links.But IMO you will face problem while you are going to target words because competition is tough.There are plenty of web hosting services available on internet. how are you going to promote hmmmm? And again come with new requirement(one by one) in freelancing sites. Requirements such as -promote our coupon -promote the written sentence in forums -article submission for our site -blog and social bookmarking promotion I noticed he always provide a link of his site and discount coupon in above method for promotion. I observed that the site was offering pretty nice services and attractive offer.Then i follow the link and use coupon to get discount .And geta hosting plan from the web hosting site. may be you feel, i am stupid but offer was nice.But,that's really a different way to promote site. And everyone knows freelancing websites get a very decent traffic.And you can get some customer from there .
