    Hi everyone, good day!!!

Hi I am 21, on my senior year at college. Can you help me how to start a freelance programming job? I am ready to accept jobs in PHP/AJAX Mysql, Javascript, CSS and ActionScript. I tried to post at the bidding site like getAFreelancer.com but the competetion is really heavy specially if you don't have a feedback yet...

Please help!!! Thank You So Much!!!

Well getafreelancer is a great place (the greates in my opinion) to start but you must have a portofolio to show to convince people to give you the project

Olso for the first projects try to make smal projects at very low price to get good feedbacks and great reviews afther that you can set a higher standard

Regards and wish you luck i'm a freelancer too

Start off by building a site with your portfolio, this is essential for getting gigs/jobs because potential clients want to see your work! If you don't have a full portfolio, I would offer free or discounted services just to help build up your showcase.

Also, you can check out craigslist.org for some gigs.

Start with local business's in your area...try a local classified ad...personal contact...ect. Get a couple of local clients under your belt for referrals and word of mouth will spread from there. That's how I got started.

You may also look into project4hire.com for work to build up a portfolio as well. I believe there is a rating there as well. I think sitepoint.com is another place. But you have to pay fee to advertise yourself. I believe payments can be made via paypal.
