Yeah. you need to buy a domain for your site and buy a quality ecommerce script online, or you can download opensource ecommerce script to make your site. After making a site, it is not much difficult to run it.

    hello, Peon!

It depends on your country laws. In general, you should register a company or yourself as a private entrepreneur to start an online business.
As for technical side, you should purchase the domain name, choose a hosting plan and the appropriate shopping cart script, set it up, add your products, shipping and payment methods and advertise your store somehow.

Yes you can build your ecommerce website. First you must register a domain and get hosting from any hosting company. then download any ecommerce solutions like zencart, oscommerce or any other software which are completely free of cost. upload files on server and install your website. now manage your store with admin section ;)

if you need any help let me know!:)

You need to register unique, catchy, short and descriptive domain name - a good domain is good money in your pocket.
Than you should find a good web host that can be suitable for running ecommerce sites (you need to contact the host's support and ask them if they can support ecommerce sites).. And, of course, you have to build a well-designed web site.

First thing you need to know what type of e-commerce you build. Then choose CMS that fits your need, like payment gateway or just listing of the products. And you need buy domain and hosting to live your e-commerce site. Good Luck!

if you want to start an ecommerce site then buy a domain, buy hosting plan, start developing the website on joomla/droopal (CMS) if you don't have budgets for paid design, they are easy to learn. you can aue add ons like OS commerce or virtue mart with these CMS to develop onilne shopping platforms, then buy an online payment gateway.
you are good to go with these functionalitites

    Hi,
There are no absolute way to answer your Q.
    Here's my take on it.

    1) Identify what and how many items you want to sell online.
    2) Identify to whom you want to sell.
    3) Once you know to whom you wish to sell, find out which best method they will be able to pay you.

    4) Identify how you gonna sell online. There are many ways depending on (1), (2), (3) above. You can choose to just sell on your website and just have a simple order form. You can choose to implement a catalog & shopping cart system. You can choose to sell on facebook. You can choose to sell using a blogshop, etc etc

    5) Once done with (4) identify a domain name that best describe the stuff you sell. If you're selling cupcakes for example choose a domain name that has the word cupcake in it. If possible avoid using name that has to relation to the product you're selling. Write your options down and share with friends and ask for opinions.

    6) Based on no (4) if you just want to have a simple website find a developer that can help you develop the page(s). Tell them points (1), (2), 3) and any decent web developer will be able to help you. If you're opting for shopping cart solution there are countless open source solutions to choose from. Test them out and see if its to your liking. Seek professional help and dont forget to tell them points (1), (2), 3). If the decision is just to sell on facebook or your blog, do so accordingly.

well thats a start. plenty of decisions to be made there before even opening the store.
    .. to be continued ...

    cheers
    Nonny

In addition of all mentioned above I will just say that you need to find a faithful supplier. This is very important. You will need to contact them directly and tell them you are interested in establishing an account. If you are not familiar to them, you must provide suppliers with a copy of your sales tax certificate from your state indicating you can purchase from them without being charged sales tax. You must provide them with a credit card for your purchases to be charged.Good luck with your ecommerce.

Most of people do not register anything until they earn lot and doing big then they only need to register while they cant run away from the income tax and so on from government.
All you need is register a domain name and get a reliable hosting to start up your online e-commerce. After you got your domain name and hosting , then is time for you to develop your site and build in with payment gateway , billing and security product to help you manage your website.

After all you can start sell and start earning.

kinda difficult question, 'cause it has too many answers... at first, you should decide which kind of e-commerce you'd like to start, then you'll find out legal restrictions concerning the kind of products you'd like to run. They will obviously vary, depends on the country.
Hosting issue will be one of the first ones. Then you should thing how your site will look. the easiest way is to use already existing open source ecommerce demos.
after doing that - just time, patience and creative mood)))

First you must know the background to legislation and meet the consumer's rights, preserving these rights, selling proven products and within the law. All the rest, taking care to business administration, will occur naturally.

I suggest you let a website designer take care of the design for your site , for legal matter just included what is relevant in the privacy and terms and conditions.
