Most people don't decide to be a full time blogger, they are part time bloggers and then realize they're good and making money from it and can do it full time. I don't recommend doing this is you aren't sure as to how to promote your blog.

Rather than thinking "I want to earn money by blogging full-time" think "I'll blog about something I really like and enjoy, and earn some money if it enables me to do so." Most successful blogs are by people who don't initially start the blog "just to" make money.

It's important to remember that blogs are just websites as well, and they produce money proportional to the quality of content and the demand/interest in it.

So, I suggest you start as a part-time blogger. A blog about something you yourself truly enjoy, that way you will naturally give it 110% and it might just end up producing you a reasonable revenue. I believe that's how all successful blogs are made. :)

My own homepage is like that, its just a bunch of stuff I put on the net when I think of it. I used to run a blog on there, the posts are still there somewhere. Now I barely touch it and it makes a few hundred a month off adsense, so its as un-fulltime as you can get.

The other sites I work on fulltime earn very little per month.

TBH dont quit your day job. Why don't you keep doing whatever you are doing, and do blogging for a couple of hours a day and see if you like it or it goes anywhere at all. Sure, you wont get the same results as you would full time, but you will get some feel for it.

By homepage do you mean its just a site about yourself? A few hundred a month sounds pretty damn good. Would you link us to the site?

First of all to be a successful full time blogger, it takes a lot of hard work, time and passion.

    1. Niche -
Choose a niche and start writing quality content. As your blog is new 1-2 article a week are enough.

    2. Promotion -
To promote your blog you can use Guest posting, Social media sites, blog commenting, Forum posting, blogging communities like Blokube.cometc.

    3. Make Money -
After you start getting 200 visitors a day, start monetizing your site with banner ads, affiliate marketing, adsense, mailing list, etc.

List of some blogging tips and make money blogs.

Excellent idea! I also like this work a bit, but being a health professional, you can not stay home. My only advice to you is to be regular and try to create stories written by yourself and not use the copy and paste the formula.

You remind me of myself a few years back, I got in the internet business when I lost my job during a recession in my country then I started blogging, thought I could make it as a career as soon as I started it, guess what.. after 2 months I was broke, I got very little income from the blog and i keep spending the rest of the money in my bank account. I finally became an online freelancer and finally MADE SOME $$$ :)
While I was doing freelance jobs, I still run my blog until finally it brings me extra income, then I started some other new blogs, cut my freelance job hours, selling ebooks, run affiliate programs, now I have many income sources online. The important thing for me is make sure you have financial security for a few months ahead first then you can start your "blogging career", because you cannot expect a blog can give you instant result, I learned it the hard way, it's not good to be broke trust me :D

I agree. Don't jump right away into full-time blogging. It's not easy as that. There's a lot of things to do before you can become a full-time blogger that can support you financially. You have take baby steps. Don't rush into believing what the gurus have been telling you. It's part of their sales talk to make you fall into their trap which is to but their products. Haha

If you want to start blogging for fulltime than find a great mentor who are successful in blogging and do it for fulltime.

What I suggest is if you decide to start as full time blogging than first you need to start learning how to brand yourself and most important thing is what your writting there should be alway valuable things to users and if they like it than they will come back rather than going to some where..

Why they will come back if you are providing valuable words because time is money..people don't have time to move from one website to another..

Write for the users not for the search engines. Think how users will be benefited from it and think how it will be useful for them so they can share the thoughts to others as well.

And last if you decided full time and full focus than don't jump to anything else unless you start generation some stable income per month rolling into your account. Don't even think for 6 month to start something apart from your blogging carrier..

I hope my word make senses to you..

    Thanks
    Alam
