Everybody knows what Digg is. It's now the largest social-bookmarking website. The thing is when Digg started, it had no identity. I believe Netscape had the best social-bookmarking website, but Digg soon caught up and is now #1. My question is how does a site like Digg get people to use their service when there are already tons of users on Netscape? There was* not enough people on Digg in the first place to fill it with articles, and to Digg them to differentiate the good articles from the bad ones. I'm talking about the Pligg clones where the max dugg article is at 5. Thanks for your answers.
Wasn't netscape a normal yahoo-like portal before they copied-ish digg? I always thought digg came along after slashdot, and they were more than likely one of the few sites like that.
I think it's down to publicity, i never knew of netscapes version. And the whole web2.0 and buzz thing..
