    Hello Everyone!
    Today i want to ask a question from you designers. I am a starter in graphic design scene. I want to ask that how you guys come up with new ideas for your designs? I sometimes stuck with creativity and cannot start a project because of that. Some people say me to google up what you're designing for innovation and then design something new from that.

    I do this and i become able to design because of this strategy but i want to ask from pros that is it right i am doing? I am confused because i don't use my ideas from scratch. I take someone idea and make something new from that. For example; if i were to design a flyer for a I.T firm i will search for related flyers and then choose some reference and try to make some new design from that. Please help me about it, Thanks!

    Regards,

    First off you need to go to sites that showcases designs, portfolios and layouts like templatemonster, thefwa.com , netdiver.net , 2advanced.net and lot more.
    From there get some ideas on how to make your own designs.
    Second do a lot of trial and error as it wont gonna make you a guro in just one night. it could take few weeks , months or even a year

    Maybe this may sound weird, but comic books have wild designs in them as well. You can get some ideas from there as well as cartoons. They are ripe with cool designs that flash across the screen. It may spark your imagination!

    This is the most boring part; writing a project brief.

    Whether your designing for a client, a friend or even yourself it always helps to know what result you want before you've even started and developing a project brief is the most efficient way of doing this.

    Ask your client/friend/self the following questions;

    The answers to the questions above should set you on the right path, the rest is down to your personal skill and what you can extract from the information you've gathered.

    :D

    Hope this helps,
    --Mike

    I've always found that sometimes I'll have it and sometimes I won't. One day I'll open up photoshop and won't come up with anything for an hour, and the next day I can pump out 2 designs in one day. It's all about inspiration and being optimistic I guess.
