    Hi there

I want to know how add a forum to my blog website. Any suggestions? Once I manage to set this up, what's the next step afterward?

Do I hire someone to run my forum?
I have no experience in running a forum, so I was hoping someone was generous enough to help me out.

    Thanks in advance
    CHEERS :)

You can use sites like Bravenet to get free forums and add them to your website.

Cheers mate! I was aiming more towards maintenance and running a forum. I will try to install phbb and see try from there.

    Sweet.

Very hard work. I have had a forum for 5 years now. I don't really have the time to manage it well though. I reckon to do it well requires 2-3 hours per day.

    Here are some random ideas:

    1. Install SMF 2 RC 3.
    2. Spend a few days playing with the various themes and mods.
    3. Re-install SMF 2 RC 3 and this time, install only the themes and mods you really want.
    4. Publish some mildly controversial articles on your blogsite.
    5. Start new threads in your forum to discuss said articles.
    6. Keep at it. You can only become better over time if you work at it.

    Hope that is useful.

Why not install a localhost software (such as XAMPP, VertrigoServer,...) and try them all before running live ?

Hey, I will try and get it done as soon as possible, but I am writing an ebook on How to setup and run a successful forum. Once I have finished it I will PM you and give you the download location.

It will be free just like my seo ebook. It shouldn't be to long now, maybe a couple of days
