How to Start a Blog Network?

    I want to start a blog network but don't know what software to use. Is there something free on the Web that allows for blog networks?

    um you'll need to explain more what you want to offer in this network.

    if it's just links between other blogs then use www.wordpress.org and you can create a blogroll on your blog of other blogs.

    Sry for that. Basically, I want to retain control over all the blog, while allowing writers to have access to them to enter their blogs.

    So you want to have writers enter blog entries or add their link?

    I'd not give people access to enter a link, you could have a contact form which they submit and you enter the link yourself. You could do something similar to what the www.blogsearchengine.com have done, and used Wordpress to create a blog search engine.
