How to Squat or Get a registered domain?

There are some domains I'm targeting but are currently registered. All of the sites are out dated and don't seem to be getting much traffic at all if any.

Is there a way to try and take it from the current owner when renewal is due?
Should I try and low ball the owner of the site?

What are your suggestions or experience?

If the site owner pays renewal fees, it is not possible to do so

letutor: It's not nice being a low baller but I gotta give you credit for being honest.

One way I can think off is to somehow make your victim's whois email invalid. Perhaps you can do thing by spamming to make it exceed storage space limit. Once this is done, you place a backorder and then complaint to the registrar about the invalid email.

Of course you need a registrar who's also into low balling. For more inspiration you can read this article.

You're right it's definitely not the nicest thing and I'm not sure that I would or will do it but it's nice to know just the same. I'm going to try contacting them and find out if they are interested in selling first.

Thanks for the advise. Anyone else have ideas or ways to get domains from someone else?

Or try back ordering the domain at GoDaddy.
