Hey guys, I had to make a website for one of my classes and currently it's #1 on Google for "How to rig a deck of cards" My dilemma is that there is a class competition and the person who gets the most traffic by the end of the semester gets an ipod touch. Any suggestions for me to heavily increase traffic?
if it just the traffic and no conversion, then you can stumble your site. stumble upon can send you a lot of traffic if stumblers like the site for some reason
is this keyword "How to rig a deck of cards" really popular? Promoting via chatroom is good for this content i think.
Part of the grading for this project was to be in the top5 websites to show up on Google for a certain keyword/phrase. Logically, I chose a less popular but still relevant one. I mean the site does have deliverable content but I just need numbers. Is buying traffic an option?
If it is just about numbers and costs you less than a ipod touch you could very well explore this option. Social media like stumble, digg, Mixx, etc. could very well boost your traffic volumes. Do something viral, think of something that can really get people hooked to what you have to say and if successful you will get loads of traffic.
The problem is I post on sites such as digg and reddit and I never get any diggs/upvotes. Thus, I don't get any traffic. I submitted my site to stumbleupon or atleast I think I did (not exactly sure, I put code in my file and "I liked it" on the toolbar) but I'm still not getting traffic.!
take a funny photo and email the photo to your buddies... If the photo is good enough then it will get forwarded to their contacts and then become viral. I used a photo from tuneshrinker dot com (photo of an apple) I emailed it to my family/buddies and put a link to my website (the one in my sig) I got a bunch of traffic... But it took about 2 days before I saw results. Because it is October try and find a funny halloween photo, there are a tone of hilarious pics for halloween like pumpkins barfing you could email... Spam you contacts with a funny image and then put your link RIGHT BY THE PICTURE>>>>>
You can also buy traffic from Stumbleupon. 0.05 cents/visitors...and you can target somehow the campaign.
They social media these days seem to be driven by the sentiment "who you know" and not "what you know". It has become a common tradition to exhange diggs for diggs and stumble for stumble. So you would effectively have to start building your social network, a network of fellow diggers and stumblers who could help you with your cause. I am however not discounting the fact that you should have some really good content to keep people hooked. Content is and will remain the king. So try working on this front and you should start to see some results.
