How to Sign Up Beta Users

    I have a new service site that I am starting, but want to go through a beta period with about 250 members before I release it to everybody else.

    Does anybody have experience with something similar? How did you get a broad range of beta users to sign up? What are some steps to take from there?

    Try buying emails to people registered on similar sites and email them invites to your sites

    Post in forums related to the product.. make sure you dont spam though, if a forum is small asking the permission of mods would be a good idea.

    I agree with what has been said so far. Offer beta users something normal users wouldn't get. Offer a special newsletter. TONS of ideas just gotta think of what your niche might like.
