Hello all, I am sure most of you have seen some sites that have their main site sections appear in google search results, like so: I notice some sites with high authority do not have this so I am guessing its the way you setup your site i.e. a sitemap? Anyone know how this is done or is it just having a high PR? Thanks all
this is called sitelink. you dont have a whole lot of control over it as google decides which sites to show search links for. but if you have a brandable/unique domian name like DP (or SEOFocused) and have good navigation with lots of backlinks, then there is a very good chance that your sitelinks will show.
Google has not disclosed a magic formula for site links. They have suggested however that navigation, well constructed categories, and sitemaps play a role.
it is just a shortcut google provides.. google knows a lot of visitors search or frequent those sub sections, and google presents them as site links.. your site has to be important and has enough traffic
I've had sitelinks for quite some time, and my Alexa rank is well above 50K. It's not linked to Alexa.
it is up to google to decide which site warrants such short cut... maybe from enough people bookmarking sub section pages? google is such a mystery
Google have no formulas that calculates links of your site is Google Search, Google's sophisticated algorithms measure the presance of the site links in Google results search. If the main sections of your site are highly popular and if they are cached in google they will be shown in google results for the specific keywords search.
