How to show 2 ads with same keywords?

I want 2 different ads, using 2 different domains, to both show with the same keywords. I've tried them in separate Campaigns, but it doesn't work -- one or the other shows, but not both at the same time. Is there some way to do this, or will I have to open a separate account for the second ad? Thanks.

You should be able so long as they have different display urls I think.

You can't have more than one ad, with the same keyword, display at the same time - even for different URL's. This is googles policy to prevent one advertiser from taking up more than one ad space at a time. There are threads that talk about opening two accounts to get around this - and google catching them.

You can try to request an exception to AdWords for this.

Search for help about this to check if your case fits before requesting this.

But I never saw someone that has been accepted in the exception policy.

You can try to create an additional account for this: If you do that keep all your accounts in a same client central - by doing this you may violationg AdWords TOS and they may freeze you accounts or even Ban you permanently from AdWords.

I have a number of sites that overlap so I do see overlapping ads alternate in ad sets. I can see why you might want both ads to show but on each page display a user can only click on one ad. When they return to the search page they should see the other ad. So it's not that bad that only one of your overlapping ads appears.

I recall doing a search two years ago and seeing seven ads and they all were from the same company, so it's obvious why Google set the rule.

Thanks tbarr60. The reason I wanted to do this was to push a competitor off the top blue, where they appear with me, onto the right hand column.

Out of interest, in addition to asking customers where they heard about us, if it was thro Google, we often ask them how they use Google. More than half state that they favour the top blue, then the generics -- but ignore the right hand column completely. Interesting.

I am fairly certain they won't ban you. They will just rotate your ads through one ad slot. Google wants you to have of ads both within a campaign and within an account so they can let their algorithms test and optimize the ad placement. They may bump the minimum bid way up on one keyword in one campaign while keepig the same keyword at a lower price in another.

This is very interesting. I have been pushing my bids higher initially to get higher CTR at the start and it helps CTR as expected but also doesn't usually cost near my bid price. I may be getting in the blue area as an unexpected beneifit. :)

I think that BannerSpot is talking about using multiple accounts to try produce multiple results in one search.

There are some cases that people get banned by Google trying to do this:
