How to setup wordpress+mysql

  1. #1
    Recently I purchased new site at DP and now I want to upload it to my server. I received wordpress files + mysql file. I created new database and tried editing wp-config but it dint work. Please can someone guide me step by step to set it up.

    i think you only need the wp-content, don't upload All wordpress engine, just upload the wp-content, you can install wordpress by fantatisco if your hosting already cpanel,

    Your host will usually provide an installer script, that's the way I did mine BUT it is very very easy to do yourself. I'd recommend FileFilla for FTP cos it's fast and stable. Dreamweaver stutters too much in my experience and if the upload is disrupted you might get a corrupted install...

    If you are using cPanel, then install Wordpress in Fantastico.

    if you want to restore the WP + DB you bought to a new server and ensure all the content for that WP site holds.

    you need to goto your PHPMyAdmin and do an import of the database take a look at codex.wordpress.org/Restoring_Your_Database_From_Backup

    if the WP site you bought also came with plugins etc best to upload the folder you received via FTP to your hosting
