How to setup Users on an FTP Server?

I'm trying to configure an FTP server to give specific access for a user to a specific subfolder of the web documents directory. I'm running Centos5. My web documents are in /www and I'd like to give the user (user1) access to just the dire /www/user1 so that he can't even navigate up to the other directories or even see that they exist.

How should I go about doing that?

    Thanks.

have you got lxadmin installed or anything else?

    cpanel etc?

or do you just have console (ssh) access to the box?

We're using Webmin. The FTP we're using is vsftpd.

We also have another issue that is likely related to port forwarding in that when I was logged in as this user to test I couldn't upload/create files even in his folder, but I could see/read/open pretty much any file on the system.

So I'm pretty sure it's just a permissions thing that I need to set up. I'd him to have full rights/access to his folder but for apache to still be able to run the files, and then disallow him from being able to do anything else, as I detailed above.

    Thanks.

Update: I've got the permissions taken care of. I just need to figure out how to limit the user access to that one folder.
