    I love this one http://www.tightvnc.com/

Allows you to access the server from any browser, all you got to know is the URL or IP and the password.

Why not enable remote deskto p on his PC? As long as he has XP Pro or Vista Biz as his OS you can enable it. Just go to My Computer -> Properties and the remote tab. You can enable RDP there.

VNC is a great problem but it has major screen update issues compared to RDP

When you scroll a webpage in VNC and it only redraws half of it, then you'll see why RDP has an advantage :)

VNC uses a video hook and doesn't interface directly with the video card driver. Because of this, it has to keep asking Windows if something has changed on the screen. This is not only horribly inefficient, but highly inaccurate when it comes to screen redraws. You frequently have to wiggle your mouse around sections that do not redraw themselves.

It's a great cross platform solution, but rarely the solution of choice.
