How to setup FTP and domain in WHM (cPanel)?

    I am trying a news web server that is "WHM 11.30.5 (build 3)" cPanel

    I am new in server management. So I need to know how to do the followings-

    01. I need to setup an FTP account so that I can login the root dir with that account.

    02. I need to add some domains.

    When I will login using FTP then I will see the doamins like bellow (example):

    ftp.jpg

    03. I got 2 IPs with my hosting. First one is using as default. I want to use another one IP for FTP login and for those added domain.

    PLEASE HELP ME TELLING HOW CAN I DO THAT. Thanks

    Hi.

    1. It should be better to use SFTP (try WinSCP client) for secure file management. Using this, you will be able to logon with the same username/password you are using to logon to WHM.

    2. The correct way to "add domains" in WHM is to create cPanel account(s) for those domains. So first create a Package and then create cPanel account using the needed Package, domain name, etc.

    3. I would strongly suggest to contact your hosting provider and ask them to help you with the setup.

    wasn't sure but if you aren't familiar with server management stuff, probably consider hiring some outsource to help you to take care on it or just convert to normal reseller / share hosting which you will get the cPanel access directly. You save some cost from there especially on the monthly cPanel license.

    Hiring someone is not an option, the thing here is to learn and managing a server is hard at all. He's doing the right thing by asking for help and reading tutorials around that way he doesn't need to hire someone every time he needs to add an account or create a new package. He'll learn it once and that's it, he then can do it over and over again.. it's not hard at all.
