How to setup a video server

    Hi,

Would anyone know how to setup a video server or have a link that could provide the technical stuff needed to set one up?

Basically, it'll be used for education where you'll have a central location which contains all the course content. Then, you have different buildings in the campus and a number of satellite campuses that have on-demand access to the video in the server.

So it's basically, like you have a number of channels (1 for each subject), say 1 for math, 1 for chemistry and so on. And on any given day when the lecture requires it, the instructor has a multimedia room to where there is a TV and students have desks w/ PCs. So if the instruction is a video they can all watch the TV, and then when interactive coursework comes around they have access via the PCs.

I hope to be able to get something like a architectural diagram of the layout, hopefully the hardware (capacity/memory,etc also), software needed and networking stuff also.

    Thanks.

Go to the windows media server sub-section of the microsoft windows server section.

It will have the architectural information you are seeking.
