Apologies if posted in the wrong area, not 100% what this fits under (please feel free to move it)

I have a website with a few hundred pages listed in Google at the moment say domain.com/article1.html. domain.com/article2.html and so on.

I have re organised all my website and most of this links are not live anymore but the content is still there. Is there anyway i can set up a 'the page you have requested has been move, you are being redirected to the homepage' type redirect without getting banned in Google for cloaking/redirection or does that only really apply if you are show domain1.com in the google listings but send a user when he clicks to domain2.com

any advice would be most welcome asit would be a shame to lose all these ranked pages.

    Regards
    Carl

as far as i know, clacking is dangerous for your site as u r showing different things to crawler and different things to visitors. your should go for permanent redirection by writing rewrite rule to .htaccess file.
this is one of the best solution which is used by webmasters now a days.
