Well, Finally i got a BSNL landline connection !!

But the problem is that the BSNL employees said to me that "you are an educated guy and can set up the modem yourself" :p

Thats ok but i have never used it. so don't know how to install it in my pc !

Is Ethernet Port available on all PC's?? How to check if its available on mine or not ?? Also they said something like RJ45.

And also if i set up the modem then i need to create a new connection settings, how would i do that? I don't know what to use in the settings.

It would be nice if a member having a bsnl broadband helps me. :)

i have a MTNL connection and i guess they are both same. BSNL nd MTNL but just the region of operation is different.,

    ok
now we have to connect 3 wires into the modem.
    1 power adapter wire

2 ethernet wire with a broad front port.. this goes into the computer.. at back of the CPU.. just next to your USB ports.

3 is the adsl wire that goes into the phone link.

get this right and then call up bsnl for the settings.. they'll guide you on phone only. to change the IP addresses etc. kk
    post if any other query

    regards

Well, there is one more problem.. WHats the helpline number of bsnl broadband ??

Also, there are 4 LED's in the modem ( Power, Link, Data and Ethernet)

TWo of them ( Power and Ethernet) are glowing continously that means they are working.

BUt the problem is that the one LED(Link) is blinking.

Is it blinking bcoz my broadband is not activated yet ?? or any other problem ?? :(

    Help me please.
