i created a new blog on december 2009..i use socialmarker to bookmark my blog...i also submit my site to more than 100+ directories...i also ping my blog whenever i have new update with pingler... than i use www.backlinkwatch.com to check my backlink but i only got 2 backlink =( Any advice what should i do?i only know backlink help us to get better ranking in SERP...correct me if im wrong... so i just work hard to get backlink...how can i get backlink again?
Well, Search Engine Optimization is a process and takes efforts, but blindly submitting to directories won't help. The page rank of the directories, their inclusion guidelines, inclusion period etc. all these things matter a lot, I suggest start with writing an article that you think would interest people and contact me for the directory of article websites coz they have very high Google PR
Now here the experience of the optimization matters, simply submitting to directories doesn't matter at all.The quality of the directory and the listing page also matters.Do Comment posting , SBM, articles, press releases and the most important thing is posting unique content in your blog.
You can find the sites related to your niche and get the back link from the site approaching the admin. That can give you better result..

Here is what I do: I comment on relevant blogs in my niche. Make sure you stay within your niche and not venture too far out of it by writing blog posts that have nothing to do with your blog. If you are on Wordpress, utilize the Meta SEO Pak plugin---it works wonders as it will create meta titles for your headlines, as well as help with keywords. I recently started using the Zemanta plugini as well, this provides me with valuable backlinks from reputable blogs in my niche and it makes keyword suggestions to my blog posts. Quite a time saver. My blog is about 3 months old has a PR2 and is 197,825 in Alexa. Also, I get a lot of traffic from Twitter and Facebook. Hope this helps.

Try to comment on blogs related to the topic of your blog (but be careful to be do follow blogs), press releases, if you have a RSS feed submit it to RSS directories, post on forums
Update...i got 7backlink 2day when i check...i do comment on related topic blog....but how to know whether it is a dofollow blog?and what is press release?haven try that yet...
what about onpage seo? How many blog posts do you have? How long is the length of the blog post? What is the keyword density?

I recommend using Yahoo site explorer to analyse backlinks. I find this to me more accurate than anything else I have used. As for improving your backlinks, become a part of a network of blogs by commenting and taking part in the discussions on other blogs in a similar niche.
